MISSION & VISION STATEMENTS

MISSION STATEMENT

The Van Alstyne Church exists to honor God by…

Bringing People to Jesus
It’s hard to keep good news to yourself! That’s why we want to tell everyone we know about the good news of salvation that is offered through Jesus Christ. Our
passion and our mission as disciples of Jesus is first and foremost to tell everyone about the forgiveness and acceptance they can have before God through Him.

Encouraging One Another
Life is sometimes difficult, and since everyone needs a helping hand from time to time, we want to create and provide an atmosphere where each of us can be encouraged to hang in there and overcome the struggles of life. Our church family is a place where you can receive the affirmation and encouragement you need to live from day to day.

Caring for Those in Need
Jesus has called his disciples to live lives of self-sacrificing service. We are to look to the needs of others before we consider our own. The Van Alstyne Church family recognizes that God’s love is not theoretical, but practical. So, if someone has a need, we do whatever we can to meet that need.

Being a Conscience in the Community
Being Jesus’ disciples does not stop when we leave the confines of our church building. Jesus has called us to be “salt and light” in the world as we live for Him every day of our lives. The Bible teaches that Christians are to be the “hands and feet” of Jesus in our world today. That means we, like Jesus, are concerned with justice and defending the powerless.

The bottom line is that, at Van Alstyne, we do our best to provide people with a place where they can grow in their walk with the Lord, develop relationships with each other and put their faith into action through Christ-centered Service.
